With enterprise and highly skilled jobs identified as the key to long-term prosperity, Britain should be aiming to have the best-educated and most flexible workforce in the world.
Siddall & Hilton Products has been spotlighted by its continued efforts to increase skills of its workforce, taking part in the government’s Train to Gain initiative which allows employees to study for NVQs during working hours.
“At Siddall & Hilton Products, we see the value in updating the skills of our workforce to meet the challenges of changing markets,” stated Managing Director Kevin Steers. “We’ve invested in new equipment requiring higher levels of skills, and aim to have at least 60% of our workforce accredited to NVQ standard to support our planned growth and development.”
The company’s commitment and success has been celebrated by a recent visit from John Healey, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, who took the opportunity to pay a visit to Siddall & Hilton Products, now recognised as one of the region’s most successful manufacturers, achieving significant and sustained growth in both domestic and export markets.
